I know Ms. Schlegel seems to say that every fun day in 2nd grade is her favorite, but Valentine's Day really is my all time favorite day! How can you go wrong with love and games and just having fun! We had a little bit of a Valentine's Day celebration with Bingo, some movies, and opening up all of our Valentine's from our friends in our room!

Valentine's Day Reminder
Dear Parents,
Second
graders will have a valentine exchange and party on Friday, February 13th. Students interested in exchanging valentines
should bring a valentine for each member of the class (we have 20
students and 3 adults) I encourage you to have your child not write out
individual student names on the Valentine’s as it is much easier to put them in
bags without finding the exact student it is meant for!
Please
bring something sealed that has not
been processed in a facility with peanuts or contains any gelatin. Students
will make their individual bags to hold Valentine’s they receive at school.
The
party will be held at the end of the day.
Students may begin bringing their valentines to school on Monday,
February 9th. If you have any questions,
please feel free to contact me. Thank
you!
Ms.
Schlegel

Valentine's Day!
Our class was very excited for Valentine's Day! As a child, it was one of my favorite holidays to celebrate in the classroom and we had lots of fun Friday!
We started our morning by playing a matching game with hearts. We had to really use our observation skills to check who was our match and move the heart around to see if it was going to work. We played this game quite a few times and really enjoyed it! We used great teamwork to help each other out!
We made some crafts that were little Valentine's hangers. We quickly started to realize that our glue did not want to stick to our cups, and our little Valentine wasn't working as well as we wanted it to! So we tried to make up for it using staples and glue and it didn't work much better! So we learned our lesson with glue and won't be trying that again!
We played Valentine's Bingo and got to pass out all of our Valentine's in bags to open and read through at the end of the day! The kids loved getting Valentine's from their friends! Thanks for being such great parents!
