Meet A Kindergartener : Zoe

Zoe was our Owl of the Week this week! Zoe used the word 'sneaky' to describe herself! She can't wait to go to Disney World. Zoe loves playing, her brother, movies, and anything dealing with art!

Zoe does not like spiders!

She brought lots of stuff to share with us! We got to read a few of her books and she brought some dolls and some stuffed animals to show her friends!

Thanks for being the Owl of the Week, Zoe!

Meet A Kindergartener : MarTreal

MarTreal was our Owl of the Week last week! One word to describe MarTreal is wild! MarTreal likes to play with toys, cartoons, wrestlers, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

He wishes he could go on a family vacation to Disney World!

MarTreal brought us a few Dr. Seuss books to read for Dr. Seuss week as well as some wrestlers and action figures!

Thanks for being the Owl of the Week, MarTreal!

St. Patricks Day & Parent Reader

With St. Patricks Day being the Monday after Spring Break, it snuck up on us fast! We made some hats to wear during the day and did a writing activity about the six things we would wish for if a leprechaun gave us a rainbow of wishes! We used our brains to really figure out how to spell the things we were wishing for by sound spelling them out!

We also had a parent reader on Monday! Ethan's mom came in to read to our class and bring Ethan's treats for his birthday that he had over Spring Break! She read us a Dr. Seuss book, an alien one, and a Bad Kitty book, which we always love! Thanks for coming to read to us!

Nutrition

We have finished up our Nutrition unit and have moved into Body Basics!

During Nutrition, we learned all about how to be healthy, exercise, and all about food! We did lots of fun, different activities learning all about the different food groups and different ways to stay healthy!

This was an activity learning about our teeth and how we need to care for them. We got to try a real orange and a candy orange and figure out which one is healthier for us as well as which one sticks to our teeth. We examined our teeth with mirrors and swished around water and filled out some questions about what we felt and saw.

During this activity we sorted foods by their color on the packaging as well as the food color.

We also played food bingo!

At the end, we got to do a healthy snack! We took some guesses on what we thought we were making, mixed up the powder with some milk, and stirred and stirred! We found out we were making pudding!

We had so much fun on our Nutrition unit and can't wait to learn more about our bodies!

Book Parade and Dr. Seuss Day!

Ms. Schlegel is a little bit behind on blogging! But I'm working on catching up! First up is our super fun Book Parade and Dr. Seuss Day! The week before Spring Break, we got to dress up as our favorite characters from books and parade around the school carrying our book!

We had lots of fun costumes in our classroom! We got to walk through the hallways at school and see all of the other Meadow Lane students and their costumes! After we were done, some parents joined us in our room for reading!

It was a fun morning!

After that, we had a visitor in the library! Cat in the Hat came to read to us and brought lots of different characters for us to play with!
